Noel Turner

Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Owner and Co-Founder of The National School of Aesthetics

Noel Turner is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), owner and co-founder of The National School of Aesthetics. He’s a qualified beauty therapist, product ambassador for Janssen Cosmetics, and recognised by our industry as a leader through the Contribution to the Industry award, his place in the Beauty Therapy Hall of Fame and his honourary lifetime membership to the New Zealand Association of Registered Beauty Professionals.

About Noel Turner

Noel Turner opened the school in 1985 with Don Kendall and completed his training in the beauty therapy field through instruction by an independent tutor, gaining international qualifications in beauty therapy at that time. He has been active in the beauty therapy industry for over 35 years, and, in 2013, was a co-recipient of the New Zealand Association of Beauty Therapists’ Contribution to the Industry award for “significant contribution to the development of the beauty therapy industry in New Zealand”. Noel and Don also were inducted into the Beauty Therapy Hall of Fame in 2017 and granted honourary lifetime membership into the New Zealand Association of Registered Beauty Professionals in 2021.

Noel is one of the people responsible for the day-to-day management and operations of the school, as well as internal financial control. His reputation has seen him asked to lecture in congresses in Las Vegas (USA), Hong Kong (China), Singapore, Australia (Sydney, Melbourne), New Zealand and Europe, to work as a visiting lecturer in a Los Angeles beauty therapy school, to supervise spa staff aboard cruise ships and land-based spas, to provide guidance for potential cruise ship beauty therapists, and to examine for an international examination body. He once served as a board member of the Beauty Practitioners National Training Council (BPNTC), the organisation once responsible for advising and developing the unit standards for the National Qualifications Framework. He also served as an International Educator for Janssen Cosmeceutical Care.

In 2021, with Don Kendall partially retiring, Noel bought Don’s shares in The National School of Aesthetics, making him the sole owner.

Conflicts of Interests and Interests in Other Organisations

NZQA requires all governing members at every training education organisation in New Zealand are required to declare any conflicts of interest and interests in other organisations. This is the declaration, as signed by Noel Turner, on 28 February 2012:

“I hereby declare that I have no actual or potential conflicts of interest arising from my role as a governing member of the PTE named above. I have an interest in an organisation in the education or immigration sector that provides goods or services to tertiary students as follows: I am a director and shareholder of Aesthetics Imports Limited, a company that supplies beauty therapy products and educational textbooks to the education sector, including but not limited to the National School of Aesthetics and its students.”
