2019 Programme Update

This story is no longer valid.

Lately, we’re getting asked, “Why don’t you have information about your 2019 programmes on your Web site yet?”

In 2019 and 2020, we’ll begin the switch to programmes that align to the new New Zealand suite of beauty qualifications.

The first wave of alignment will happen in January 2019.

Our Diploma in Beauty Therapy and Applied Aesthetics programme is being replaced by two programmes: the New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy (Level 4) and the New Zealand Diploma in Beauty Therapy (Level 5). The first students in our New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy programme will start in late January 2019. Our first students in our New Zealand Diploma in Beauty Therapy will start in late January 2020.

Our Certificate in Nail Technology will become the New Zealand Certificate in Nail Technology (Level 4). Like the New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy programme, our first students will start the New Zealand Certificate in Nail Technology in late January 2019.

The combined Diploma in Beauty Therapy and Applied Aesthetics with Certificate in Nail Technology programme will no longer be offered due to the significantly increased workload between the two programmes now the New Zealand Certificate in Nail Technology is 120 credits (1200 hours) long.

Our Diploma in Spa Therapies will shorten to the New Zealand Certificate in Spa Therapy (Level 5). Like the New Zealand Diploma in Beauty Therapy programme, our first students begin in this programme in late January 2020.

This is (of course) all subject to NZQA Approval and Accreditation.

The New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy and New Zealand Certificate in Nail Technology programmes are currently in the NZQA Approval and Accreditation process, and, if there are no major issues that need to be corrected, they should be approved by late August 2018.

The New Zealand Diploma in Beauty Therapy and New Zealand Certificate in Spa Therapies programmes are currently being created and will enter the NZQA Approval and Accreditation process later in 2018.

Once NZQA approves the first two programmes, we will release finalised information on our Web site and have our new Course Information Pack ready for download.
