Cruise Ship Interviews – May 2019

This story is no longer valid.

We at the National School of Aesthetics have a long-standing relationship with Steiner, the international company in charge of spas on the majority of cruise ships around the world. They have held all their Christchurch-based interviews on our campus for around 25 years now, and our graduates tend to get preference as Steiner knows their skills and knowledge are to an internationally-superb level.

This year, Steiner will be holding interviews for positions available on cruise ships around the world at our campus on Sunday, 19 May 2019.

To apply, visit www.theonboardspa.com and book an appointment with the Recruitment Manager for Australia and New Zealand, Elizabeth Newman.

We look forward to welcoming you to our campus for your interview soon.

Course Information Pack Cover
This story is no longer valid.

We’re happy to announce our 2019 course information pack and information is now online.

You can download our new course information pack from our Course Information Pack page. And our students look wonderful in the brochure too.

Want to study with us in 2019? You can download the course information pack or download the application form itself from our Downloads page.

Please note that domestic students (New Zealand citizens and permanent residents) have different a application form than international students (foreign students who need a student visa or other visa to study).

You can fill these out on your computer or smart device. You will then need to print them out, initial each page and sign the last page, and post, courier, or bring the form in with the required supporting documentation.

All instructions for these forms are online in our Enrol section of our Web site.

You should apply as soon as possible so you can secure your spot. July 2018 intakes were full 3 months before we started with a long waiting list.

The New Zealand Diploma in Beauty Therapy and New Zealand Certificate in Spa Therapies programmes are currently being created and will enter the NZQA Approval and Accreditation process later in 2018 or early in 2019 for delivery in 2020.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

Good news!

NZQA have approved our applications for the New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy (Level 4) and the New Zealand Certificate in Nail Technology (Level 4). This means from 2019, these two programmes will replace the Diploma in Beauty Therapy and Applied Aesthetics programme and the Certificate in Nail Technology programme (respectively) at The National School of Aesthetics.

We are now working with TEC for funding approval for these programmes and their components, which should be completed within the next few weeks. Once fees are finalised, we’ll be able to give you more information on prices and release application forms.

2019 Programme Update

This story is no longer valid.

Lately, we’re getting asked, “Why don’t you have information about your 2019 programmes on your Web site yet?”

In 2019 and 2020, we’ll begin the switch to programmes that align to the new New Zealand suite of beauty qualifications.

The first wave of alignment will happen in January 2019.

Our Diploma in Beauty Therapy and Applied Aesthetics programme is being replaced by two programmes: the New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy (Level 4) and the New Zealand Diploma in Beauty Therapy (Level 5). The first students in our New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy programme will start in late January 2019. Our first students in our New Zealand Diploma in Beauty Therapy will start in late January 2020.

Our Certificate in Nail Technology will become the New Zealand Certificate in Nail Technology (Level 4). Like the New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy programme, our first students will start the New Zealand Certificate in Nail Technology in late January 2019.

The combined Diploma in Beauty Therapy and Applied Aesthetics with Certificate in Nail Technology programme will no longer be offered due to the significantly increased workload between the two programmes now the New Zealand Certificate in Nail Technology is 120 credits (1200 hours) long.

Our Diploma in Spa Therapies will shorten to the New Zealand Certificate in Spa Therapy (Level 5). Like the New Zealand Diploma in Beauty Therapy programme, our first students begin in this programme in late January 2020.

This is (of course) all subject to NZQA Approval and Accreditation.

The New Zealand Certificate in Beauty Therapy and New Zealand Certificate in Nail Technology programmes are currently in the NZQA Approval and Accreditation process, and, if there are no major issues that need to be corrected, they should be approved by late August 2018.

The New Zealand Diploma in Beauty Therapy and New Zealand Certificate in Spa Therapies programmes are currently being created and will enter the NZQA Approval and Accreditation process later in 2018.

Once NZQA approves the first two programmes, we will release finalised information on our Web site and have our new Course Information Pack ready for download.

If you have any questions, please let us know.
